So I'm a storyteller (or long-winded depending on who you ask) and there's nothing I love more than telling absolutely ridiculous stories, mostly about dating. Sometimes the stories are my own (tragic I know) and sometimes they belong to others. Either way, my inner Leo often calls me to be the center of attention and crazy, "you can't do that on television" dating stories are my medium. When I catch up with a friend, I'm always good for a couple and sometimes that friend will bemoan missing any new stories and say "You should have a blog."
So here is that blog. I'll admit its going to take me a while to figure out how to make this work. But here are my ground rules so far:
In order to protect the privacy of myself, friends, acquaintances or anyone else who may see themselves in these stories, the names of all characters are made up. In fact, the main female character in every story will be named Janet. Just as the main male character in every story will be named Justin. No particular reason why I chose those names. Any story that requires additional "characters" will also have made up names.
Also, I absolutely reserve the right to tweek any portion of any story for entertainment value, to control embarrassment, or because I wasn't there and I need to fill in the details. So, all my lawyer friends, don't sue me because these stories aren't about you per se. And if you've dated me, um hi and welcome to my blog. That story that may seem like its about us, is actually about someone else. Yeah... let's go with that.
At the end of each story, I'll rank each story on a 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest) scale in my humble opinion in the following categories.
Hilarity in the Moment
Hilarity in the Retelling
Sitcom Feasibility (i.e. This should only happen in a bad rom/com sitcom)
